Sheet Metal Fabrication for Construction

K-Display provides sheet metal fabrication for construction OEMs: door and access-system manufacturers, building-products makers, and construction-equipment builders. We cut, form, weld, and powder coat galvanized, galvanneal, and coated-steel components to your drawings for parts that spend their life outdoors or on a jobsite.

How we contribute

Construction is a sector of assembled products. A sectional door, a rolling door, a gate operator, a dock leveler, and a compact loader each carry dozens of formed and welded steel parts around a core mechanism. The OEM designs the product and rates it. Our sheet metal fabrication for construction covers the light-gauge and medium-gauge components around that mechanism: sections, hoods, housings, brackets, guards, and covers.

We take responsibility for cutting, forming, stamping, welding, powder coating, hardware, subassembly, and packing. Heavy plate weldments, roll-formed track, springs, and drive components come from other suppliers. Our parts are built to mate with them.

What we make for construction

Typical part families, built to your print.

Door section components
Formed panel parts, end stiles, and reinforcement channels for sectional doors, cut from pre-galvanized sheet at the decimal thickness on your drawing.
Rolling-door hoods, covers, and mounting plates
Formed hoods, guide covers, and bracket plates sized to the curtain clearance and mounting geometry of the door.
Operator and control housings
Sheet-metal housings, control boxes, and removable covers for door operators, with drive clearance and wiring entries defined.
Gate and access-control enclosures
Pedestals, reader housings, and cabinets for vehicular gate operators and access-control equipment, built for outdoor mounting.
Dock equipment brackets and covers
Backing plates, weather covers, and mounting brackets for dock levelers, seals, and vehicle restraints.
Equipment guards, covers, and brackets
Light-gauge guards, engine and hydraulic covers, and mounting brackets for compact construction equipment, fitted to the OEM's frame.

What construction jobs require

Each item is something you specify and we build to.

Galvanized substrate and coating weight
Door and access parts are commonly specified on pre-galvanized sheet. State the ASTM A653 coating designation, G60 or G90, or galvanneal.
Thickness stated in decimals
DASMA advises stating actual steel thickness rather than a gauge number. Put the decimal thickness and the coating on the drawing so the sheet order matches your rating.
Weather and corrosion exposure
Exterior doors, gate operators, and dock equipment see sun, rain, salt, and wash. Define the exposure and the coating system over the galvanized substrate so finish and hardware are reviewed against it.
Fit to the OEM's rated assembly
Substituting a component changes a door's tested performance. Parts are built to your released geometry and attachment pattern, not to a look-alike part.
Wind-load reinforcement details
Struts, reinforcement channels, and attachment features for wind-load options are OEM design decisions. Send them as drawn so the hole pattern and edge distance match.
Supply state and packing
Loose parts, welded subassemblies, or kitted door-by-door sets change how the work is finished and packed. State the supply state and any labeling.

How the work runs

Door and equipment programs repeat, so the work is set up as a released part list.

  1. Review substrate, thickness, and mating parts

We check the coating designation, decimal thickness, and the parts each component mates with before releasing anything to the shop.

  2. Cut, form, weld, and stamp

Pre-galvanized and coated blanks are laser cut or punched, formed, stamped where volume supports tooling, and welded with the coating condition in view.

  3. Finish, kit, and ship

Powder coat, hardware, and subassembly follow. Parts are packed as loose components or kits and released to your build schedule.
