Sheet Metal Fabrication for Telecommunications

We build to your drawings, in the material and finish the site requires, and deliver with hardware installed.
How we contribute
Telecommunications equipment is installed in two places: the central office and the outside plant. Inside, radios, switches and power systems mount in 19-inch and 23-inch frames. Outside, the same equipment stands in a cabinet at a roadside, a cell site or a building wall, where it meets rain, dust, heat and the public. The sheet metal is the part of the network that holds the equipment in position and keeps the weather off it.
Our sheet metal fabrication for telecommunications covers the cabinets, shelves, rack hardware and mounts in that scope. We cut, form and weld the parts, install self-clinching hardware, hinges and locking handles, powder coat in-house, and assemble to the build state on the drawing. Thermal management equipment, electronics and site engineering stay with your team.

- Outdoor equipment cabinets
- Welded or bolted cabinet bodies, doors with gasket lands, sun shields, rain lips and mounting rails for outside-plant electronics and power.
- Equipment and battery shelves
- Formed shelves, slide trays and battery trays sized to the equipment and battery footprint, with tie-downs and vent openings where the drawing calls for them.
- Rack panels and brackets
- Blank and cutout panels, mounting brackets, adapter brackets between 19-inch and 23-inch frames, and 1U and multi-U chassis faces with the specified hole pattern.
- Antenna and radio mounts
- Pole and wall brackets, pipe-mount plates, tilt brackets and remote radio unit mounts formed from galvanized or stainless steel.
- Fiber and splice enclosures
- Wall and pole-mount boxes with cable entry, grommet openings and slack storage for fiber distribution and splicing.
- Cable entry and grounding plates
- Gland plates, bulkhead plates and ground bar mounting plates with the cutouts and studs your interconnection plan specifies.

- Rack width and hole pattern
- Specify 19-inch or 23-inch mounting, the hole pattern and the rack unit height. Most North American rack drawings reference EIA/ECA-310 for the 19-inch pattern; panels and brackets are cut and punched to the pattern on your drawing.
- Outdoor cabinet criteria
- Name the criteria the cabinet is designed to, such as Telcordia GR-487 for outside-plant cabinets or a NEMA type, with the gasket, sun shield and drainage details. We build the metal to those details; qualification testing is on your finished cabinet.
- Corrosion protection
- Specify galvanized, galvannealed or stainless material for outdoor mounts, and the powder coat system, color and surface preparation for cabinets. Mark grounding points to keep bare.
- Central office criteria
- For indoor frames and shelves, state the equipment-space criteria your product is qualified to, such as Telcordia GR-63, so shelf loads, frame dimensions and fastener locations match.
- Security and access
- Specify three-point locking handles, padlock hasps, hinge pins that resist removal and door stays for cabinets in public locations.
- RoHS and material declarations
- If your product ships under RoHS or REACH, state the material and coating restrictions on the drawing and the declarations you need with the parts.
How the work runs
Cabinets and rack parts move from drawing review to site-ready packing.
Review the cabinet or frame set
We check the cabinet, shelf and bracket drawings against the rack pattern, gasket path, entry plan and hardware list before cutting.
Fabricate and install hardware
Laser cut, punch, form and weld the parts; install self-clinching studs and nuts, hinges, handles and ground studs to the bill of material.
Finish and ship site-ready
Powder coat in-house with masked grounds, fit gaskets and doors, assemble shelves and rails, and pack by site or by release.
