Fabricated Loading Dock Components

Source fabricated metal parts for the dock equipment you design. K-Display reviews covers, brackets, backing plates, and weldments against your mounting geometry, moving clearances, material callouts, and acceptance requirements.

Define the part within the dock equipment

Dock equipment combines moving assemblies, fixed structure, and service access. A cover, an attachment bracket, and a load-carrying weldment have different requirements even when they appear on the same equipment drawing.

Identify the part function when you send the project. We can review the fabrication scope against your approved design, including required joining and inspection; the complete equipment load rating is established by its design and evaluation.

Backing plate, stiffened mounting bracket, and shallow access cover shown as separate parts.

The thin cover and reinforced bracket have different functions. The equipment drawing defines which component carries load and which provides access.

Parts for your production line

Covers and access panels
Formed metalwork that encloses specified areas while retaining the required service access.
Mounting brackets
Cut and formed attachments for the interfaces defined by your equipment drawings.
Backing and connection plates
Platework with the material and hole pattern required by the mounting design.
Specified weldments
Fabricated units reviewed against your weld details, dimensional requirements, and inspection scope.

Interfaces that determine fit

Part function and load path
Identify whether the part carries load, connects equipment, or serves as a cover. Provide the engineering requirements for its role.
Moving clearance
Show adjacent platform, linkage, or other travel envelopes that affect the supplied metalwork.
Mounting geometry
Define the datums, connection pattern, and mating structure rather than relying on an overall equipment size.
Inspection and service
Share weld acceptance, critical dimensions, finish, and access requirements for the delivered part.

Review each part by its equipment function

A cover and a load-carrying bracket need different geometry, joining and inspection decisions within the same dock-equipment build.

  1. Review the defined component

Confirm the part function, approved geometry, and any material or inspection requirements affecting fabrication.

  2. Coordinate fabrication and joining

Cut, form, and join the agreed parts in a sequence suited to the drawing requirements.

  3. Deliver for your equipment build

Complete specified finishing and checks, then identify the parts for your assembly process.

Check the connection against the mating structure

Matching hole patterns do not guarantee that a dock-equipment bracket can be fitted. In the channel connection shown, the backing plate sits inside the member. Its edges must clear the channel’s internal corners so it can seat against the web, while the reinforced bracket meets the opposite face.

Review the assembled section as well as the separate parts. Plate and web thicknesses, together with the specified washers, affect bolt length; nearby flanges and the bracket’s gusset affect installation space. The equipment designer’s connection detail sets the plate geometry, hardware, and tightening requirements.
