Fabricated Rolling Door Components

Fit the metalwork around your rolling door mechanism. Bring K-Display the drawings for hoods, covers, mounting plates, and formed components that need to clear the curtain, attach to the structure, and remain accessible for service.

Metalwork around the moving curtain

A rolling door packages a moving curtain and its support mechanism into a compact opening. Hood clearance and mounting geometry need to be considered together, even when the supplied part is a simple cover.

We review fabricated components to your OEM drawings. Identify any part tied to a tested or listed door assembly so its material, geometry, and acceptance requirements stay with the approved design.

The hood surrounds an operating envelope that your door design supplies. The exploded end cover and highlighted flange show the removal and mounting interfaces to define.

Parts for your production line

Hoods and covers
Formed sheet-metal pieces sized around the mechanism envelope in your drawings.
Mounting plates
Cut plates with the attachment pattern and material specified for their role.
Guide cover parts
Formed covers and related metalwork around your guide arrangement.
Attachment brackets
Part-specific brackets for the mounting and service arrangement of the door.

Interfaces that determine fit

Curtain clearance
Supply the maximum operating envelope and required clearances for the hood and adjacent metalwork.
Guide arrangement
Distinguish a guide cover from a structural guide and provide the relevant straightness and mounting requirements.
Service removal
Show fastener access and the direction in which covers need to leave the installed assembly.
Approved component design
Provide the specified material and connection details. Compatibility is established by the door design, not appearance.

Fit covers around the rolling assembly

Review hood geometry, end covers and attachment plates against the curtain envelope and removal sequence.

  1. Define the fabricated scope

Separate hoods, covers, and platework from curtain, barrel, drive, and proprietary guide components.

  2. Review formed and mating features

Coordinate the part geometry with attachment positions and the required operating envelope.

  3. Finish for assembly

Apply the specified finish and deliver identified components with the agreed inspection and packing.

Check the hood around the full roll

As the curtain winds onto the barrel, the roll occupies more of the space inside the hood. An inward return can reduce that space even when the outside cover dimensions look adequate. The end-section shows where that folded edge sits relative to the maximum roll envelope.

Compare the hood’s inside profile with the OEM’s maximum operating envelope in the installed mounting position. Keep the specified clearances between moving parts and fixed metalwork, including the returns. Those clearances come from the door design; the gap shown here is illustrative.
